New Schools, Victoria
The New Schools Public Private Partnership Project marks an innovative approach to the future of education in Victoria and Australia. It has a capital value of $291 million and is involved the financing, design, construction and 25-year asset management of 15 new schools in some of Victoria’s most rapidly growing communities.
With this project, the PPP model creates a ‘whole of life’ asset management approach, allowing school administrators and leaders to concentrate on learners rather than the maintenance of their schools.
The Government’s objectives for the project are to design and build 15 new schools which focus on inclusivity, and have the capability to equip young Victorians with the skills and resources they need for the future – regardless of their ability.
The client, North Projects, engaged S-Curve Linear to provide commissioning and completion advice in relation to completion requirements.
Responsibilities & Achievement
To assist North Project in meeting all their completion obligations for each of the 15 schools, we executed a detailed analysis of the completion requirements with a completion review, and developed a project-specific testing framework to streamline the compliance process.
We provided crucial advice on qualification of the “as-installed” works to ensure design requirements had been met. We also gave guidance on consultant engagement and the commissioning sequence to ensure the process flowed efficiently.
The scope of advice we provided North Projects gave them a comprehensive understanding of their obligations and the frameworks to fulfil these obligations on an ongoing basis.
